Giving back on both a local and global level is intrinsic to the Meridian culture. Our managing partners believe in leading by example. We serve as mentors, volunteers and board members in multiple organizations encouraging and subsidizing involvement by our many clients.
On a local level, our managing partners serve on the boards of the Puksta Foundation and Boulder County Aids Project, and support a number of important programs. We mentor at-risk youth through Kids Hope. We work to provide outdoor therapy to children with physical, behavioral, cognitive and emotional disabilities through the National Sports Center for the Disabled. And through Meridian’s Breakfast Club program, we provide nutritious snack foods to schools along the Front Range each year. In fact, we were honored to have been named the St. Vrain Valley School District’s business volunteer of the year as a result of these ongoing efforts.
Supporting academic success through improved nutrition is an important focus for Meridian. It’s estimated that 22% of all children in Colorado struggle with hunger, and hungry kids cannot learn. On a quarterly basis, our managing partners provide healthy snack bars and 100% fruit juices to more than 25 Denver and Front Range schools. To date, we have distributed more than 61,000 snack bars and 32,400 juice boxes to Colorado children through Meridian’s Breakfast Club.
Globally, Meridian has worked to involve our clients in the Save the Children (STC) program. For more than 9 years, we have sponsored more than 110 disadvantaged children in some of the world’s poorest and most dangerous areas. STC provides children in need with access to education, medical care, safe water and nutrition. Sponsors correspond with their child thus creating a unique connection that impacts both sponsor and child. Our total investment to date is over $300,000. We are the largest corporate sponsor in Colorado and the fourth largest in the country.
Our senior management team continues to be passionate supporters and advocates of the organizations in which we are involved. Additionally, Meridian respects and supports our employees’ individual choices of community involvement and civic engagement. We offer scheduling flexibility and individual financial funding to advance these efforts.
In 2016 alone, Meridian Wealth Management and its managing partners contributed over $58,000 to local and global organizations. We invested almost 200 hours volunteering, mentoring and serving on boards.
Character is higher than intellect.
